Dive West Palm Beach

with Ocean Quest Scuba

Our location in West Palm Beach gives us access to some of the most diverse diving in Florida. As soon as Sunny Sunday clears the inlet, we have three options: north, central, or south.  Each area has its own unique character—shallow reefs, dramatic ledges, or wrecks teeming with life.

No matter which way we go, you’ll enjoy clear Gulf Stream water, vibrant marine life, and drift diving at its best.

From deep reefs to deep ledges, every trip brings something new.

North of the Inlet

– Deep Reefs & Big Encounters

Depth: 70–100 ftTravel Time: ~40 minutes to northernmost sites
Expect dramatic ledges, resident reef sharks, and some of the largest Goliath groupers in the region. Great for experienced divers and hunters.Featured Sites:

  • Juno Ledge (78–90 ft) A “mini wall” with our tallest ledge system. Home to sharks, turtles, Goliath groupers, and massive green morays.
  • Shark Canyon (72–90 ft) Known for its resident reef sharks and a 400+ lb Goliath Grouper named Shadow, who loves posing for photos!
  • Spanish Anchor (85–100 ft) Mid-level ledge, excellent for lobster hunting and spearfishing. Occasionally visited by sandbar sharks.
  • Mike’s Reef (80–95 ft) A deeper patch reef with great hunting opportunities—groupers are common here in the early season.

Central Sites

– Wrecks & Reefs Near the Inlet

Depth: 60–100 ftTravel Time: ~10–15 minutes (perfect when seas are rough)
These sites are close to the inlet, so we often return to the Intracoastal between dives—ideal for snack breaks or divers prone to seasickness. Expect turtles, nurse sharks, and easy access.

Featured Sites:
  • Yellowtail / Larsen’s Valley (70–90 ft) Drift across two ledges in one drop! Nurse sharks rest in blowouts, and Goliath groupers are regulars.
  • Mid Reef (65–90 ft) Rolling “underwater hills” with big angelfish and abundant reef life.
  • Nunn’s Ledge (68–90 ft) A sloping reef with unique topography and plenty of marine life.
  • Palm Beach Triangle (90 ft) A wreck resting on the reef. Rare sightings include sawfish, always a thrill!

South of the Inlet

– Shallow Reefs & Marine Life Galore
Depth: 48–60 ftTravel Time: ~20 minutes

South of the inlet lies Breakers Reef, one of Florida’s most beloved shallow reef systems. Divided into multiple sections, it’s where we often do Open Water training dives—but it’s also a favorite of seasoned divers thanks to its biodiversity.

Expect sponges, hard corals, schooling reef fish, and plenty of turtles. Perfect for all experience levels..
